-I have a domain at name.com
-Just setup hosting at Hostgator
-Went to go change nameservers to the ones provided by hostgator, but name.com said they should not point elsewhere. Reset to default, and browsing my domain resolves to my hosting account. No problem.

Now how do I add the subdomain, www to point to my host? It requires an IP address, but I don't have a static IP with my hosting.

There's already an entry for www.domain.com in the cpanel of my hosting DNS settings. Perhaps that is sufficient? Just waiting on DNS then I guess.

If you are using cpanel/whm to manage your DNS then that is all that you need to do.
I am a little confused though, you have domain.com and www.domain.com pointing at different locations?

Sorry. I'm confusing myself. I WANT www.domain.com to also point to the same place...I think I got it though. I added 2 cname records on my name.com account to point to the 2 nameservers that hostgator gave me.
