Pointers for Overclocking 8800GTS

So now that my CPU is stable at 3.6Ghz, I am looking for a nice OC on my GPU. I had it as 621/1021(Or somewhere around there), but it would find artifacts in ATI Tool after about 30 minutes. Is that acceptable or should I be looking for a longer amount of time? I'll also be OC'ing the Shader Clock once I find a stable point. Any tips or suggestions?
 
is it worthwhile to overclock a video card ? how much gain can you get in terms of video performance ?
 
Yeah Ive found it not as rewarding as OCing your CPU so I just dont do it. Lazy I guess.
 
I find it quite worthwhile. For example, I overclock my 8800GTS 320 meg and I make huge gains in 3dmark06, and as just one example (Source games) I get almost a difference of average 20 fps. 20 FPS can make a difference between stuttery and smooth as honey.
