Just wondering whats the deal with windows defender? What does it do? And why do i need it over something like nod 32 im guessing?

Defender is primarily anti-spyware. Nod32 is anti-virus.

i thought nod was also antispyware as well as antivirus...

Edit anyways so defender is antispyware?

yeah i have nod32 but i guess defender is good enough for spyware?

I used to use webroot spysweeper but they dont support 64bit vista... bummer :(

I personally think it does a pretty damn good job for what it is.... You might take a look at SuperAntiSpyware... it's free and seems to work very well... again just my opinion, but it works for me...

If your going to buy something, get the Windows one care scanner. It has Defender in it plus Virus scanner. There is a special Vista only beta edition that you can get for free right now I think.
