Tech Notes: Unless your running a Haswell CPU rule of thumb is DDR3 1600 is the current memory sweet spot in regards to price/performance. For Haswell DDR3 1866 is recommended, but given that most DDR3 1866 or higher 16GB memory kits are $150+ currently, this deal is a good compromise. Anandtech provides a good guide for Haswell memory scaling (see here [anandtech.com]). Theoretically a 2400 CL11 kit has a 10% advantage over this 1600 CL9 kit, but in real world applications this can be less than 5%. Also note that these are to separate DIMMs not a 16GB kit, so your timings and speed is not guaranteed like when your buying a kit. I purchased this kit myself because I am assuming that DDR3 1600 is very mature and risk is low.
