I recently purchased a pny 6800 gt. the only problem is that it doesnt work. i am not the original owner and i do not have a reciept, but it doesnt look physically damaged, so will pny honor the lifetime replacemet and rma it, or not? has anyone else been in this situation?

Contact them and see what happens. The worst they could do is say "no."

Most likely, no...if they did, then I'll hop on over to eBay or somewhere and get a damaged one and RMA that sucker :D

Not without the reciept. If you could manage to come up with that you'd be set.

Things aren't looking too good.

Even if your card were covered under the "Lifetime Warranty,"

PNY's Lifetime Replacement Warranty
PNY Technologies, Inc. ("PNY"), supplier of your newly purchased PNY graphics card (the "product"), warrants the product to be free from defects in materials and workmanship for the life of the product as sold to the original purchaser ("purchaser")

Your best hope is to contact the person from whom you purchased the card, and have him send it back to PNY (if retail boxed) or the vendor (if OEM).

It's the same story if your card is covered by the one year warranty:

PNY Technologies, Inc. warrants this Verto graphic card product* to be free from defects in materials and workmanship for a period of one year (plus an additional 2 years upon completion of a registration form on PNY's website http://www.pny.com ) from the original sale date to the original purchaser, subject to all the terms and conditions hereunder. This warranty is not assignable or transferable.

Hmmm...BFG never asked for my receipt or anything when I RMA'ed my BFG 6800GT PCI-e...they just said send the card over WITHOUT the original packaging...lol..anyway it's reshipping back to me today...I wonder why they would need a receipt anyway...

Well that is why there is BFG......................then there is PNY

Plus PNY's "lifetime" warranty is only for the lifetime of the prodcut which is pretty short
