I got my PNY 6800GT the other day and all is good. I started playing Doom 3 (With all the setting on high) and 10 mins in to the game it crashes with a looping sound and after about a few secs it went back to normal, after another 10 mins the same with happen. So i said to myseft F*$k this and played another game. I put Call Of Duty in and started playing MP and the game was running great but with alot of artifacts flying around, i uninsatlled the Nvidia drivers (61.77) and reinstalled them and the same thing happen. I also get artifacts in Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War.
I have Coobits 1and 2 install aswell.

Can anyone out there HELP me

BTW am Running:
AMD 3200+ Barton
Asus A7N8X Deluxe Mbo
2x512 XML3200 Corsair Ram
PNY Geforce 6800GT (Running stock speed @ 350/1.00)
40G Maxtor HDD IDE
80G Maxtor HDD IDE
120G Maxtor HDD SATA
450W PSU

to be honest a friend of mine was having the exact same problem. He put a new PS in, and all was fixed... I noticed you said 450W, what brand is it? His problem was periodic drops in the amount of power his rig was getting..

Just a suggestion.

I've got a PNY Geforce 6800GT OC'ed to Ultra speeds. I'm currenlty using an Antec Truepower 430. I've got no issue here.

PNY 6800GT with only acouple issues, actually only issues in the MoH:pA Demo and EQ2 Beta. Other then those two, everything is fine and dandy.

Sparkle 530 PSU here.

Also - monitor your temps. When running the real-time lighting demo at darn near full sreen what do your temps climb to?

My PNY GT had some form of TIM applied to the GPU. Yours may not have been applied correctly, or one of the screws may not be tight.
