PMW Fan Recommendations

I recently purchased a Gigabyte Z77 UD5H and it's festooned with 4-pin fan headers. I'm wondering which PMW case fans you [H] types would recommend? I've already purchased a pair of Gentle Typhoons for my H100, now I'm looking for something to move air through the case. I've been eyeballing the Arctic Cooling F12 PMW fans, if only because the price is right and they're white, which will look hot in my Corsair 500r ... but I've been reading mixed reviews. I'm not looking for Delta level CFM, hoping for a decent balance between noise and airflow.

Thanks in advance!

i had two of artic cooling fans on my heatsink and they are quite but don't move that much air even at full tilt.

Grabbed a GELID Silent 12 to add to my 550D build I will be doing tomorrow (case comes with 3x 3-pin case fans, not sure how good they are yet). Looked at Noctua, Cougar and others but these were cheap and had decent reviews ($12.50 vs $23 for the Noctua). Will report back.

Thanks for all the suggestions.

I stumbled across some 4-pin Cougar Vortex (black, not orange) for $11 CDN a pop, so I'm giving them a spin. If their specs are halfway true, they may even upstage the GTs.

Where from? Saw them for $16.99 at NCIX.

I have 3 Cougar 120mm CF-V12HPB's and two Cougar 140mm CF-V14HB's (and a MegaFlow 200mm) set up in my 650D and I have been pretty impressed with them overall. They push a lot of air and are really quiet. They are actually a little bit louder than the GT AP-15's on the noise/air pushed ratio, but they have a different sound to them. It's more of a "whoosh" sound (like just air tubulence) and are much more pleasing to the ear to me then the GT's.

One note... Cougar has had some problems with some of their fans when you mount them horizontally. Some of them have a little motor noise when they're mounted like this. One of the 140mm's I ordered had this problem. I e-mailed them and they did a quick RMA and also sent me an e-mail saying they had received other messages about this and were working on it. The replacement they sent me has no noise nor does the other 140mm I had ordered (all three 120mm's are silent in the horizontal position as I couldn't resist testing them all), so I'm assuming it's not an extremely common problem.

Thanks Fixall. Yeah, I've seen several user reviews that mention the "grinding" when mounted horizontal. I intend to try them both on my H100 rad and as front and rear intake/exhaust case fans, so I'll be experimenting with a mix of horizontal and vertical mounts alongside my two Gentle Typhoons (which will either end up on the rad or as front intake). Hoping for silence, either way. :)

I spent a ton of time looking up pwm fans and decided to go with Akasa 120mm x 25mm Viper PWM Fan w/ Hydro Dynamic Bearings (AK-FN059) fans from frozen cpu

they got good reviews and i cant find one bad one about bearing noise while mounted horizontally. (was going to get cougars but read about horizontal noise issues)

going with a arc mini, 4 of these fans P/P h100 up top, 2 in front, 1 on bottom. also getting a slim 120 for the rear.

14 bucks, good reviews, are pwm and already sleeved, im sold :)

If your just going for case fans then i would go with the Scythe Slipstream PWM fans mentioned above.
