Hi

I have a new pc with these specs

Asus formula IV ROG
I7 3.6 ghz cpu
coolermaster haf xm case "with alot of case fans"
Coolermaster seidon 240 M liquid cooler
G skill 16 gb ddr3 1600 mhz
7950 sapphire flex 3 GB
1050 w psu corsair
Intel 120 gb HDD SSD

And i have current set my cpu ratio to 44 x in bios and i cant go any higher to 44 = 4400 mhz but CPUZ only show me 4300 mhz in load, so i dont know why the cpu shows 4400 OC in bios.

Then if i try to ajust other options in the bios then i can clock the cpu higher, but then the ram also starts to gets OC to higer mhz and i have no clue what i am doing..i guess its OC when it comes to pro people

Now i set the bios to these 44 x multiplayer in order to get 4300 MHZ and these temps.

So i ned to know how can i clock my cpu to at least 4.6 ghz (4600) and is it a good thing to do with my specs..i mean with the temp..its around 65 in load..so how much could i push this new gear ?

please enlight me with some good clock setings.

The multi on that chip only works up to 43 if I remember correctly.

To go higher you will need to set the multi to 43 and then increase your base clock.

For example, to get the 4.6GHz you desire, you'll need 43 x 107
 
Just like gunslinger said but I would lower your CLOCK to raise your BUS SPEED.
 
i see..so how do i find the right volt for my cpu ?

The cpu volt is auto but i would like to know how much V the cpu needs.

In cpu z it shows 1.432 and i have beenreading on forums that people use 1.25 or soemthing lower than auto uses..so how can i know what volt to use

You start with something (for example 1.3 V) and if it's stable on that, take it down a few notches, run some test programs until it is no longer stable, then bump the volts up a few notches.

Or alternatively approach from the other direction with low volts and up them until it's stable.
 
Good news

using this OC atm

Ram is set to ther xmp profile 1600 mhz

Cpu 4440 mhz with 120 blck
volt 1.295

temps in load is 61-62

and idle 37-38

So i downed my volt and gained less heat and uppet my blck and gained higher clock for cpu

Should i leave turbo mode and intel speed step enable or disable ?

I want to have a system that auto adjust the "juice" it needs
 
Another thing to consider that you didn't directly state, is what are your goals for O/C? Are you looking for the absolute highest numbers or are you trying to get the highest stable, or highest safe? Because going from 4.3 to 4.5 probably won't yield that much in real world except that its a higher number.
 
hmm not sure exactly..i just like to spice stuff up :)
Just having suces with something like this makes me happy i guess :D
