Plug n Cool plugs safe ?

Are the Plug n Cool connectors/barbs safe from leaks and so forth ? Using the screw-on connectors aren't exactly easy to use, when it comes to tightening the hose up on both sides.

Any comments ?
 
With plug and cool sorts, kind of like the old swiftech, you have to use stiffer tubing. Soft tubing like Tygon and vinyl will not seal as well from my experience.
 
They are safe as long as you have a very straight cut and ensure the tubing is fully seated in the connector.
