i really need to know what is making my hard disk drive working improperly
i have tried to copy some data from some hards of my friends and after i have restarted the computer the parrtitions of the hard had disappeared from the explorer but the hard is detected by the bios so i tried to see what had happened to the hard by "partition magic pro 7" it says that the hard is unallocated so i had repartitioned the hard and this problem happends 2 times again.,
sometimes it says that the "The file system structure on the disk is corrupt and unusable. Please run the chkdsk utility on the volume i:." and then after i use the chkdsk utility i found that all the data is deleted and the hard is verified as RAW file system., sometimes this hard which is partitioned to 4 drives becomes 3 drives only and it tells me that the fourth partition is unallocated. and somtimes all the files on this hard becomes inaccessible and the usage of drive e: as an example is 10gb free out of 70gb but if i see the properties of the files on the drive i found that they are 0byte and 0files and that is on all the drives and some program read this hard as 128gb not 200gb.
someguys told me that tis problem is from the "master boot record" is that right?
&when i put anything on it and restart the hard become unallocated

I had a hard drive do this some time ago (my 40 gig HDD) and I reformatted it in linux FAT32 and reformatted it again as ntfs and never this the problem again. A person i know told me it was a virus that was doing that bu tthe problem never happened again and I never scanned for a virus. so wht i would do is do a format then scan the machine for viruses.

but i also had a HDD back in the 90's report as a different drive with different space size and like a week later it died so you can RMA it if it because a constant problem
