hello,
i'm new to the overclocking scene and having troubles getting going in the right direction. i have a p4 2.6 with pc2700 ram. i cannot figureout how to overclock it. i've read where everyones either adjusting in the bios or using software to overclock. theres no way to up it in the bois and i've tried clockgen and cpufsb but they don't support my board. it is an ECS l4s5mg series with sis-651 chipset. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Maybe your ECS board does not permit overclocking by not having the necessary adjustments in the bios.

all i would have to go is get another board, right? i can still keep my CPU? how much is a good board for overclocking?

Go with this one . MSI Neo2-PLS. Why ? 82.00$

Support future Prescott P4 for sure.
Has very good over volting possibility.
Cheapest I865PE mobo with all the Overclocking Possibility.
Multiple DDR ratio : DDR533/500/466/433/400/333/266
Sound with digital out , Lan on board
I have both the Neo2-LS and Neo2-PLS
The difference is the support for Prescott and more Ocing configuration in the PLS version.
I have a P4 2.4C @ 3.6 without any hickup.
Great overclocking board.

I also would recommend the Abit IS7-E, 5$ more , but I would wait for the IS7-E2, because the previous one does not support prescott P4 for sure.
