I have a Lian li EX-50b, it has a big power brick.

Once harddrive's are turned on it starts making noise.

According this amazon reviewer he might have made the noise stop?

google translate didn't make me smarter...

I can't translate german, but I'm curious what part is making noise? Is it one of the drives motors? Do you need to add silencer washers to the mounting screws to reduce vibration? Is it the bearing on the fan? Is it a whine from the power supply?

He took a 25V 4700 uF capacitor and put it between the PCB's power socket pins. However, he said it didn't reduce the noise (from the PSU)

Also, the reason he used the capacitor was because he had some boot problem with the drive's spinning up and down. The capacitor fixed that, but not the noise.

thanks guys for the explanation.

my english isn't the best but the noise that comes from the power-brick is "swooshing" noise as you get from waterpipes in home when water runs through or when you have heat elements with electric running.

It's really loud, I'm sure the fan adds to the noise, but once I put a 5/7v zalman the fan should be less noise than the harddrives and powerbrick.
