Where would I usually find clear sheets of plexiglass/acrylic/plastic? I'm hoping that a large, popular supplier would carry it.
 
I got my plexiglass from my local hardware store. Sebos to be exact. I was a little surprised when they said they had it. They even had a cutter and cut me a rectangular piece to my specifications.

 
Home Depot, Lowe's Hardware...........basically any hardware or do it yourself home supply center will have it.
 
Open your local yellow pages up and look for manufactures of Acrylic or plastics. I'm pretty sure you can get a scrap piece of plastic from their scrap heap for cheap or you might get it free.
 
Thanks everyone, to my surprise I found a small hardware store nearby had plexiglass sheets.

I was checking Home Depot's and Lowes' websites which made no mention. But I guess these types of items are one of those store only things :D

I also didn't want to order it from online because shipping would hurt the price significantly and I needed the sheets much sooner.

homedepot and lows have it by the doors/windows section
They usually have glass, plexi, lexan and a Cutting area
 
I live in a small town but my local glass shop carries it. I usually buy their scrap pieces as it is much cheaper that way.
 
Home Depot and Lowes only carry the clear ones. Does anyone know where to get the UV blue or just the blue ones? I'm looking for .5 thickness and 12" x 12". Is there a good site to get this at a reasonable price online? Thanks

1/2 inch thick? Are you going for bullet proof?
