well the canon is nice as far as battery usage... kodak is notorious for bad battery life..

also the canon uses CF which is cheaper media
 
a75 for the:

better build quality
better battery life
manual controls
cf memory
image quality
 
I myself wouldn't trust a 5 MP camera that costs that little. I would go for the Canon.

i just bought a canon A80. i absolutely love it. so i would say go with the canon
