Im building a new rig with a Phenom 9500 on a Gigabyte MA78GM-SH mobo and an Antec Sonata III Case. I will not be overclocking but i want a reliable CPU cooler that will keep temps down with minimal noise. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Nobody can help you accurately if you don't give a budget. With no budget I'd recommend any phase unit you can afford to achieve the best cooling and long processor life.

I would think that if i didnt include a budget then there is none. Im not asking for advice on a whole system, How much could a cooler cost? $50 tops? Seriosly... If you dont have suggestions dont post. Thanks Though

Zalman 9500, or 9700 CNPS. They are a bit expensive but they are rock solid and run super-quiet. For something a bit cheaper try the Arctic Cooling Freezer 64 Pro.

The 9500 isn't really a great cooler by quad-core standards, especially not for the price. If cost really isn't an issue, go for the Thermalright Ultra-120 Extreme, although given the limited amount of overclocking you'd be doing with a Phenom(if at all), it's probably not necessary. For something more economical, check out the Xigmatek HDT-RS1283, which is around $40 on Newegg and performs nearly as well as the Ultra-120 Extreme. Some other good ones are the Tuniq Tower 120, Scythe Infinity, and Noctua NH-U12P.

I ended up ordering the 9500. I dont think ill be overclocking and i have limmited room in the case so i dont think a Tuniq Tower would fit. I have one in my Antec900 and that thing is HUGE! Doubt it would fit in the Sonata. I just wanted a reliable cooler thats not noisy and will keep my CPU cool.
