I never heard about UPS till 3 days ago and it seems to be very necessary. But i honestly don't know a sh!t about it. So can anyone make a sticky on this forum to tell us if it is necessary, why u need it, and what u have to spend on a reliable UPS, etc.
Thank u very much!
:)

thanks for the link,
im about to build my first gaming-system soon. now i need some advice.
this is probable what i will buy:

19'' CRT monitor
2 gigs of ram
amd 64 4000
and the next gen Nvidia 7800 512mb

now, what kind of APC ups setup is the best for this? i just need it for stable energy ( is that called AVR?) and the battery.
oh yeah, does anyone know a good power supplie for this rig? how many watt?

a PC Power & Cooling 510 SLI would be ideal (*cough* buy mine *cough*).

You might want to wait until later...between Christmas and New Year's, Belkin has a 50% off sale on their entire inventory....UPS's included.

I currently have the Belkin 1200VA and an APC 800

Not sure which I like more....I don't have a data link for the APC 800 to see how its management software is. the Belkin uses an A/B USB cable...the APC uses an RJ45 to USB connector.

I agree that the PC P&C 510 is the #1 choice for a PSU, the OCZ PowerStream 520W being #2.

I recommend this APC UPS for highend PC's.
