PLEASE help with lcd defect!!!

hey guys,
I have a KDS k715s lcd monitor that i purchased from comp usa. After a few months of use the monitor apeared to be having back light issues, where the power would be on and the image would be displayed for a short time and then disapear. I called the KDS company and set up an exchange. I got the refurbished replacement monitor and it worked. Just tonight the same problem i mentioned earlier happened. It has been 1year and 1 month since the original purchase and KDS sais that it is out of warrenty. I wanted to know if anybody knew what this problem is? maybe a failing back light? and if anybody knows, is there a way to fix it?

Sounds like a defect built into the design of the panel.....also sounds like you should definitely think twice before buying a KDS product.

thanks for the response. Yes i figure its a problem with the design i just am wondering if anybody with lcds has had a similar problem.
