I have an 8800GT, 2GB DD2 and an E2180 dual-core (slightly overclocked the CPU) and a P31 gigabyte motherboard.

Whilst playing games I start to see artifacts (like TF2).

I doubt it's a temperature problem as it's running around 60 - 80 degrees during gaming and that's fine.

I have the latest drivers installed from the Nvidia website, of course.

Would could possibly be the cause of this?

does this problem started recently with this card?
it's look to me like a temp problem, mem temps differ from gpu temp, so be sure to check that out, also clean the heatsink :p

i dunno you, but 80ºC is an unacceptable temperature for my hardware

It's always happened really but more often in the past few months.

How would I check memory temps during gaming?

hmm.. you could have gotten a card with faulty video memory

do you run at the default fan speed?
for testing purposes, leave your case open and well ventilated (put your case next to the window to get some cool air) and set the fan speed to 100% (using Rivatuner)

then try a game and try to look for artifacts
keep checking the temps
