Hey guys I have no clue when it comes to computers. Here is a link to the computer I have

Says I have a 32 video card now. I have been playing Counter Strike alot (only game I play or ever will play). So what card is good for me, a 64 mb? And I looked into them online and there were so many that I have no clue on what I need. Also I don't want to spend over 150. The only reason why I want to get rid of the 32 (the one it came with) is because during gameplay my screen will flash red and then I can no longer see any text on the screen. I am thinking it has something to do with the card? Also about how much does it cost to install and hook up?? Thanks guys!
 
Go with a 9700 pro or 9800 pro (both ATI). ATI does better in CS, and anything over that is a bit much. You should be able to find cheap 9700 pros, which will run cs 1.6 well.
 
A used ATI 9700 or 9800 PRO is a goodt choice, but with only a 200 watt power supply, you may run into instability issues.

A great alternative that should be a nice complement to your system would be a used nVidia TI 4200 128MB or something faster (TI 4400 or 4600).

As a side note, you do not have a 32MB card actually. According to the specifications you listed, you have integrated graphics that shares system memory. Once you install the TI 4200, you should notice a little increase in overall system performance. You may have to alter the BIOS manually to make the switch, although some BIOSes do this automatically once the AGP card is detected.

I came from a GeForce3 Ti500 64Mb and it ran Half Life 1 with vsynch on and never seemed to fall below the refresh rate of my monitor so it was as smooth as could be. I doubt counterstrike (which I've loaded up to look at, but never actually played) puts much more load on the card than Half Life. A Ti500 off eBay shouldn't cost you very much money at all.
 
He has a 200 Watt power supply in that computer and knowing HP it is probably some generic brand.

I suggest buying at least a 350 Watt Enermax or Antec power supply for your new 9700 or 9800.
If you plan on keeping your power supply longer than your new graphics card get a 430 Watt.
 
If he's purely and only playing counterstrike a 9700 or 9800 will be massive overkill, especially if he needs to buy a powersupply as well.

A GF3 Ti500 or GF4 Ti series card will be more than sufficient for this game and would probably run fine on a 200W PSU.

EDIT - according to this ( http://takaman.jp/D/index.html?english ) a Ti4200 only needs an estimated 37W
 
Replacing the PSU will have its own problems most likely. HP/Compaq are known for using proprietary PSU mounting that makes aftermarket upgrade a serious modification. With this in ind it really makes the GF4 the better upgrade choice.

You guys DO remember that voodoo banshees ran CS perfectly right?
A geforce4 ti 4200 will be WAY more power than he will ever need, and will be cheap.
Honestly he would be best off spending $35 bucks on a radeon 9200 128 meg off newegg.
 
I wouldn't get a GF4 ti4400 or ti4600, most of those cases are too small to fit one of those full length cards in easily. I'd go Ti4200 if you can find a good price.

CS 1.6 for steam needs much more power than 1.5 and under for some reason. I say get a Ti4200-4600.
 
I can vouch for a Ti4200's Performance, runs CS 1.6 no sweat. Hell, I play CS:S on it....and I get ~60fps with 2xaa and high detail/models/textures....

some of that is because the ti4200 doesnt support dx9 shaders, so high detail doesnt really matter in that situation
