I have installed this game on my pc. But when i run the game it gives the following error:
"the hardware doesnot support compressed textures"
Please help me. I will be waiting for your replies....

It sounds as though the game does not like your video card. It appears that the TNT2 doesn't support texture compression by the sounds of your error. I looked up a quick review and found that it doesn't support S3TC (texture compression) according to the article, so I'm a guessing that is the cause of your problem. You will need one of the cards that do support it which is listed on their hardware compatibility list. Unless i am wrong, i don't really think there is any other workaround. :(

That should be your first clue. tnt2's were the generation BEFORE the geforce cards. And as far as tnt2's go yours is the bottom of the tnt2 pile. Spend $10 and buy a gf2 mx on ebay or here and enjoy the game

The game requires Hardware Transform and Lightning support (Hardware TnL ) which was introduced by Nvidia from Geforce 256 onwards, and Radeon 7500 onwards in ATI's case. Your Video card will not run the given game, as it is very old , infact it wont run most of the games released in 2003 and 2004....

Its better you spend 130$ and get a Radeon 9600 pro

thanks alot ....i am very pleased that there are good people who help other..i am thankful to all of you.
i will bought a new geforce card..and will play the game.
once again thanks for all of you.

yeah, no kidding...especially if his upgrade cycle is from a TNT2 to what is available nowadays.....may as well get something that will last longer than just a GeForce 2MX....current cards are already what? 7 or 8 levels, or more (not generations, levels) above the GF2MX?

Feel free to ask anything on this board, we're a bunch of nice-guy techheads. It's also nice to see a Lords of the Realm fan. :)

You should also ask us about upgrading to a new video card, we might save you from a hassle or two...including whether your board supports the necessary bus and what card is best for your configuration. I remember my first video card upgrade, and I must say it did help me make a better transition to understanding.

Its even worse than you thought ,. The TNT m64 is a denutted TNT. Its only 64 bit . It can bearly render solitair. You hosed. Time to update yourvideo card

If you are a gamer you should consder buying a Geforce 4 ti 4200 atleast as many games Like Prince of Persia SOT , Deus ex2 , most probably HL2 will require Hardware Pixel and Vertex shader 1.1 support, and they will not run on Geforce 256, Geforce 2mx, and Geforce 4 mx , Radeon 7xxx, Ragefury et all.....

My Radeon 9500 kills any 9600 or Geforce, other than the 5900's. If you can still find one...
