okay heres the deal, my computer always is saying its at 100% cpu usage and is EXTREMELY slow! does anyone have any ideas of how i can fix this problem?!?!? Thankyou!

what processes does it list as taking up resources?
have you run adaware / spybot s&d?

Go into task manager and see what is taking up most of the CPU cycles. Then we can go from there. Also try running spybot and/or adaware.

*EDIT - Guess I was beat to it!*

nothing is really taking up much space on the processes, the highest thing is my firewall(10,000k)...any ideas?

EDIT!!****** system idle process and system 32 both have 99 cpu!!!

Have you ran spybot or adaware?

If system idle process has 99% then the CPU isn't at 100%. It will bounce around alittle but system idle process should be up near there most of the time.

If you see a svchost.exe and a "System" using most of your CPU power, this seems to be a new virus, of which is not being detected by the latest virus definitions. It is starting to worry me because more and more systems are getting this problem and the only way we are able to fix it is by reinstalling XP :( Sheesh.
