please help me with liquid video...

So Im in circuit city and see this good deal $450 for a 19 inch lcd. Now its a liquid video E19LCD1. I look on tag and it doesnt say the refresh rate and then i ask and the guy is like uh..... I copy down that model # then i go home and look for liquid videos website. No dice. So i think maybe some online resellers will have the specs. No luck there either. So I finally broke down and said im too much of a newb maybe someone at the [H]ardforum can help me out.

dude. don't skimp on your monitor. if anything, it should be the best component of your entire system. you are talking about your eyes. don't screw them up with some cheap low refresh rate, low brightness, unclear, other anomaly filled monitor.

spend the money. buy a good monitor from a well known maker.

That may be true if your talking about a CRT monitor but not neccessarily true with LCD dodo. I mean there are only a few manufacturers who are producing LCD panels. For all we know that unit could have a 12ms LG panel in it...

But make sure you know the specs of the unit before you buy for sure. Check the unit out, make sure it looks good to you before you buy. Make sure there is a decent warantee on it (some of the lesser known name brands can have less and adequate warrantees).

I tried to do some eseraching but I was only able to come up with this. They do offer a 1 year warrantee on it and it's a 1280x1024 display but they are pretty skimpy on the details. This is all I found.

Best of luck in your monitor buying. I hope you end up with something that you'll enjoy for a few years to come. You'll likely have your monitor longer than the actual computer system so buy what you can afford.

for $450 i highly doubt there's a 12ms LG panel in it. and in any case, 12ms LG panel + crap backlighting and crap electronics still equals crap display in the end. the end display quality is not just about the panel alone dodo. for $450 you get what you pay for... nevermind "warantee" from a shady "liquid who?" brand that seems to have no info anywhere.

But make sure you know the specs of the unit before you buy for sure..

I figured that its probably crappy but i wanted to know about it cuz it could be one of those amazing once in a lifetime buys. Anyway i found just about as much as you guys but i couldnt find a liquid video site and that fact alone scares me. Oh well back to looking at 17 inch screens.

I found out that liquid video is a circuit city brand. Just like walmart has a value brand same thing....

You could still get a similar deal with sceptre's 12ms 19" panel. I have one and it's pure eye candy. Dark blacks and brilliant colors. Hook it up via DVI and it's a wonderful (and bright) monitor. Nothing about it seems cheap but it comes in right under $500 shipped from newegg.
