Hey all,
i bought a tx750 corsair this morning, put it in my computer, everything works fine, it boots up, i turn it off, to put it back on the floor (on my desk before) and i return it on, and i hear a buzzing noise. My motherboard's light is orange, if that means anything. None of the fans are working, and nothing is booting up. What can i do?!?

Remove the PSU completely from the case and try the paper clip trick to see if it still works. If it does, put it back in the PC and test it that way again. If it doesn't work, the issue is most likely one of the items connected to it.

Turn the switch on the back of the PSU off, and make sure nothing is connected to the PSU. Take a paper clip, and use it to connect the green wire and one of the black wires on the 20/24-pin ATX power connector. Once you've done that and the clip is connected securely, turn the switch on. The PSU should then power up.

ok, so i tried the paper clip trick, after disconnecting everything (besides the case fans), and the psu fan turns on, thats all that happens though, once i take out the paper clip, it dies again. What does this signify, or what should i do next?

ok, i tried wihtout the fans, and same thing happens, the fan turns on on the psu, but only while the paper clip is in, whats this mean?

That signifies that the PSU is working. It's supposed to shut off when you remove the paper clip, since that's what tells the PSU to stay on.

Now that you've confirmed the PSU to be working, it's time to try it in your PC again. Take care to install it very carefully, and make sure nothing is shorting out.

i put psu back in, connected it to everything, turned it on, and voila!... nothing happened :(, still the same buzzing sound and the orange light on the mobo.

The buzzing noise sounds like something is shorting...at least that's what happens at work if someone pulls a stupid and shorts the neg. and pos. of one of our variable dc power supplies. No sparks or anything....just a loud annoying buzzing noise. Makes sure everyone around knows what you did.

Try making sure that nothing is being shorted out like what zero said in his last post. You only took 5 minutes to reinstall the PSU and hook everything back up to it. Make sure all your connections are good and none of your components slip around inside the case on their mountings etc. Doesn't make sense that it will start up just fine when it's on top of your desk and all you did was move it down to the floor and then it does what you're saying.

i checked ALL the connections, dvd drives, hard drives, mobo connections, fans, video card, ram, and nothing was loose. Could this be a PSU problem?

i know im being childish in all this pleading, but please someone tell me what i need to do.. or whats wrong

Try taking all of your components out of the case, and assemble them on a non-conductive surface like a cardboard box or a piece of wood. Then try to run the computer and see if it works.

ok, and just wondering, how would this help me?, not in a sarcastic way, im just trying to ask

It rules out any potential issues from your case. ALso many times when people say they checked all connections, it turns out they didn't. The reassembling of the PC oustide of the case usually makes sure that the PC is fully connected.

heres the breakdown.
I take eveyrthing out of my case, connect my mobo, to my graphics hard, to the psu, to the cd drive, to the hard drives, plug in the psu
turn it on, and BAM! same buzzing sound and irresponsiveness from all the components.. Is this a PSU problem? because i can exchange that for a new one (bought it today)

thank you so much for the quick responses,
Invert

Try another power supply then.

What are the specs of your PC?

um i have a standard dell inspiron 530 motherboard, m1330 mobo or sometin
8800gt
q6600
And 3g of ram

any other info?

the thing is actually, is that it turned on at first, and everything worked fine, and then it didnt :/

ok. i reput everything back in correctly, and i notticed that at the top left of my MOBO i have a not filled 4 point input. It has 4 squarish holes, in a square shape. I tried to find hte cable in my psu, but was unable to..

See this connector here:

I believe it can be split into two 4 pin connectors. Split them and try to connect the 4Pin connector to the mobo.

after many hours at work :D, i finished it, and realized i had to both turn on psu AND the case (facepalm), ty for everyone that helped me, ill post pictures if ur interested in the case part of hardforum tomorow or sometin

LOL!

And people get angry whenever I ask them if they've turned on the PSU.:)

Anyway man, nice to see your problem is resolved.
