I've just completed my first build. Now I'm trying to set up Raid 1 and I'm having some difficulties that I need some help with, but first the details.

Gigabyte GA-E58-UD4P
i7 processor
2 WD 1TB Black
6GB memory

Anyway, I've got the machine put together, selected RAID 1 in the bios and rebooted. When I did, I got the message to enter crtl + I to enter configuration. Tried on several occassions, but nothing happens...the system will not enter the RAID bios. Didn't know what I was supposed to do next and based on the manual thought that maybe I was supposed to install OS first...I did. Still does not work. After reboot, I get the same message, type in ctrl + I and now it just loads Vista. What am I doing wrong? Please help!

You were supposed to install the RAID drivers first. The Windows installation disc should have given you a prompt to install the drivers.

Additionally, you need to install the RAID drivers from a separate, bootable item such as a floppy disk or a thumb drive.

Check with your motherboard's user manual for the "correct" way to install RAID.

I think I've figured it out. There was a program on the disk that came with the motherboard called "Intel Matrix Storage Console." When running, it gives you the opportunity to configure either a RAID 0 or 1. I've simply clicked on RAID 1 and now the computer says that it is migrating the data between the disks. Unless I'm surprised, I think this has solved the problem. The only thing that concerns me is that this is completely different from what the manual says that came with the board and it is contrary to what I've read online.
