Computer was running great, bought a video card from Amazon warehouse which had all sorts of issues. I returned it and bought a brand new card but bsod problem persists. I've tried everything and now reinstalled Windows 8 which hasn't helped. Could that faulty card have damaged my system to where it will cause BSODs? Hope my motherboard isn't damaged now
:(

System is a 3930k Evga dark 16gb crucial ram 256gb Samsung 840 pro 780 gtx 1000w cooler master psu.

Any advice is really appreciated. Thanks

Do you have a System Restore image from a time before you installed the video cards?

Are you able to boot into Safe Mode without suffering from a BSOD?

I did a complete reinstall of Windows so no image available. I'm trying new ram now to see if my memory might have gone bad. I can get into safe mode but have no left it for long enough to see if it'll bsod.

So I put in an extra 4gb stick of ram instead of the 16gb in there. So far it's running ok, currently have heaven running for the past 15min. Gonna give it a couple hours. I got this second video card brand new so I seriously doubt it's the GPU. I even switched the slot the card sits in. If I get a bsod with this new ram I guess the ssd would be the next culprit. Could a bad video card do permanent damage to RAM like that?

Are you running the most current motherboard BIOS/UEFI version? Is your SSD using its most current firmware revision?

Have you tried using memtest86+ on your RAM?

Which video card (brand/model) are you currently using?

Video card is an aftermarket 780 gtx made by Pny

I ran heaven for 5hrs last night no bsod and the computer hasn't given me one yet. I'm thinking it was the ram that went bad, anyone ever hear of ram going bad or being damaged by another part?
