My computer won't boot, so I was trying to repair windows files. its windows XP Pro. During windows setup, right before I can type r to repair, I will get this BSOD saying page_fault_in_nonpaged_area and it gives me this system file: partmgr.sys. Not sure why this is happening, and i haven't found any useful tips yet. If anyone knows how to solve this problem, please let me know, as I want to get back to Battle Field 2 :D .

You need to test memory (MemTest86), motherboard, and power supply first. The fast that the error is in partmgr.sys means that it is potentially a storage related problem, but probably not the hard drive itself.

Load defaults in BIOS (especially go back to stock frequencies if you have OC'd)
Remove any extraneous hardware from your system (boot with only CPU, one stick of RAM, video, HDD, and CD drive)
Try switching hard drives if you have one lying around, or run manufacturer diagnostics on your current drive if it's the only one handy.
Proceed with install again.

If it still fails, there may be a quirk in your mobo BIOS, investigate updates.
 
500MB is really low, but usually a the pagefile size is allocated before that figure is calculated. However, if the system attempts to resize the page file and then the drive runs out, you will run into problems. You may get delayed write failures, or possibly a STOP error. Running with that low of free space will also cause horrendous file fragmentation. This is in the Windows environment after setup has been successfully completed. Windows XP officially requires 1.5GB of free hard disk space, I would advise getting to that minimum, as well as the troubleshooting steps I posted earlier, before trying again.
 
How would you recommend doing this, as i cannot boot into windows.
