Need please some advice / suggestions for building a home lab san environment

My System
Norco 4020
PSU BeQuiet 700Watt
Intel E8500
Supermicro C2SBA2
6GB RAM DDr2
Areca ARC-1680iX 20Drives with BBU and 2GB RAM, Firmware 1.48
14x WDC WD5000AAKS-22V1A0
2x WDC WD5000AAKS-22V1A0 for the OS in Linux Software Raid1
12x WDC WD5000AAKS-22V1A0 for Raid
4xIntel 1GB Adapters

OS: Debian Lenny 64bit

I`m using NFS and IET Target Version 1.4.20.1 and so far the setup went very well
only the performance don`t make me happy... max 80mb/s .... with 2 gb links bonding..

Can someone please suggest me how to set up the raid with 12drives ?

is it better for performance to make 1x 6Disks with Raid5 / Raid6 or
to use 12disks for Raid 5 / Raid6

which stripe size should i use ? 64 or 128 ?

should i use for iscsi-target fileio or blockio ? has anyone a "good" ietd.conf ?

i`m planning to use my storage for vsphere / windows hyperv-v2 tests at my homelab...

thanks

I suggest getting rid of IET and moving to stgt. Version 1.0.4 has been rock solid for me and it works with clustering perfectly.
