Hey networking guys. So I dont even pretend to know much at all about networking and stuff. I just got my new internet service and this is the first time Ive dealt with a router. Shes a wireless linksys and Im getting a error message using Azureus "UPnP: Mapping Peer Data Port (TCP/6890)' failed". Now, Im assuming that it is the routers firewall doing something, and Im assuming I need to open ports and stuff. The problem Im having is I have no idea how to do these things. Ive gone to the routers config utility, but I dont understand completely what port range forwarding and that is. Looking it up just confused me more so I was hopeing that you guys can give me an answer in "routers for dumbies" terms. If theres a way I can completely do away with the firewall that would be nice because I do have a software firewall (not the win XP one *blech*). So thanks for any insight guys!
