i am in deep crap i deleted a very important .map file that i have been working on for months ... i had no backup ... dumb i know and i empied my recyle bin is there any way i can un-erase this file please help me
If that's your boot harddrive, turn off the system NOW ( pull the plug, don't do a nice shutdown ). Get another harddrive and boot off of that, then put the other HD as a secondary drive.
THEN, go get the file recovery stuff. Do not do anything to the other drive other than read, and try to keep those to a minimum, as windows still writes to the drive when you do simple reads. Do not let it do anything along the lines of chkdisk or defrag ( of course ).
