Playstation 2 --> PC Sound Card

Let's say I have a Playstation 2 and a monitor with Component input. I want to have the PS2's audio handled by my PC's sound card (bookshelves plugged in via amp).

Now, assuming I have a sound card with optical-in, I would get a TOSlink cable and plug one end into the PS2's optical-out and the other end into the sound card's optical-in. Aaaaand...then what?

Enable digital in on the soundcard via driver software and make sure it is not muted by default in the mixer panel. I have never done this but that is all I "think" you should have to do.
