I finally got into the wonderful world of backing up DVDS. I started doing this after my cousin accidentally scratched up 'the notebook'.

I was wondering if there is a tutorial on backing up PS2 games. I have around 100 games and I want to backup my favorite ones. Can someone please advise?

Best regards,

KP

Have fun backing them up, but you will not be able to play them. You have to mod your PS 2 to play them, and of course those chips are illegal since they violate DMCA. ;)

i got one just fine :D

its a pain in the ass to install, unless you have good soldering skills i wouldnt recommend trying it.

How many wires are they down to now? I rember my PS One (old style) only needed 3-5, but the PS2 needed like 19.

all the chips ive seen seem to have between 17-20 wires. its more dependant on which revision playstation2 you have.

yeah you need good soldering skills as well as a freaking $300 dollar soldering iron, cheap soldering irons for like $10 aint gonna cut it

I've installed them with the cheap 5-10 dollar ones but a 70 dollar one is a better choice. I've also used a few hundred dollar ones but for most people thats overkill. If you think installing one of those modechips is a bitch try upgrading the memory on a xbox.
