i have video that is svcd... it is a *.mpg file.. but the thing takes forever to load, and then wmp says there was an unspecified error... i haven't tried winamp yet.. bu ti am sure i will get a similar error...

do i need a codec?

thanks

You may not have the proper codec installed.. I have a program that allows you to drag a file on it and it will tell you what codec it needs and if it's installed. I forgot what it's called though. I'll post a link to it when I get home.

I believe you are referring to GSpot Analyzer.

ok... umm.. i figured it all out...

an svcd is like a vcd... it is intended to be used in a dvd player... i don't have any dvd playing software on my computer, and my dvd player is a piece of shit... the codecs for svcd, which i did find, don't work.. becasue windows reads the mpeg file in raw mode from the cd... so you have to get isobuster or a similar program and extract the mpeg file from the cd in svcd mode or some shit... then i finally got it to work...

blah..

i found gspot... it won't do svcd, vcd, or dvd... http://www.headbands.com/gspot/

and here is where i learned all my shit.. http://www.videohelp.com/svcd
