haha. They are trying to tell people a heatpipe is liquid cooling. Wow I dont belive this thing is going to be such a huge bust.

Liquid in a heat pipe is liquid cooling. It is taking advantage of the liquid to further increase the cooling capacity of the heatsink. It doesn't need a pump because it is taking advantage of natural phenomena.

It might not be an elaborate liquid cooling setup with pumps and heater cores, but it is still liquid cooling.

Im EXTREMELY PISSED OFF, i can't begin to describe how ignorant and god damn lazy these WALMART EMPLOYEES are, i finally got my hands on the 360, i loaded up COD2 and the first thing i see is that there jaggies and an EXTREME yellow tint on the tv, so i go through the game and it looked amazing better the max settings on the demo(besides resolution, and i am aware full game has higher texture settings.) now i couldn't finish it, i cant play without inverted joystick and i saw no option to change it so now i move on to KAMEO. This game is down right BEAUTIFUL but again jaggies-non issue as of now to me. Kameo had to be the most fun game and defiantly has me thinking of buying it. Now the most visually impressing game so far and thats Peter Jacksons KING KONG, i can tell you right now that OUT OF EVERY GAME I HAVE PLAYED the most graphically impressive MADE straight out no contest is king kong on the 360, my mouth WAS hanging open playing it, i was awe struck and it looked so beautiful i couldn't care less with no AA on it.

now obviously i noticed there was no AA, but i could tell it was running interlaced on COD2. I went and asked a lady behind me if shed mind letting me get into the dashboard(actual) she was so pissed i even dared to stop her from the most important talk with her friend KISHA, with a cocky attitude she basically told me to get one yourself and you can do whatever the damn well you please with it cause i don't give a shit. Ok now Im slightly aggravated and i realized that not a single BLACK LADY there is gonna help me(now let me explain, i DO have a slight dislike to African Americans, BUT i SURELY do not judge an individual until i speak to them because i have many black friends and the agree with my annoyances but still this is a problem that has grown on me because of the mistreatment that i get from this race every day)

so Im pissed.....i walk over to PS2 demo of burnout revenge, i noticed it looked like they managed to get a resolution lower then 640x480 on the tv lol, while Im playing a women(African, but shes nice let me go on ok?) speaks to a walmart employee(whos white....)she walks away after dealing with him and says he hates me....dumb redneck, so i comment "its ok, that one black lady over there almost killed me for asking her a question" she laughed and said "yeah i saw that." Ok so the guy she was talking to i notice has a xbox key chain round his neck so i go follow him, he seems like hes in a rush, following him on the outer perimeter of the store he stops up front by the cash registers so i go talk to him. I asked him if he knows anything about the xbox 360.....he takes about 10 seconds to even turn his head and acknowledge me so i go on about how it looks amazing but i don't think HD is enable. So after staring at me he says"Microsoft said its high definition" so i asked him has he seen the dashboard himself "Microsoft said it is" getting pissy-er, so i ask him if i can look around its dashboard "OF COOOUURSE, theres nothing better i can do with my time then go help you with your VERY IMPORTANT problem" i went on and said of course, i know how important your job is here and that its so painful to do it you like to go on walks around the store as fast as possible avoiding human contact, walking back to your department and standing there for a little bit, and circling the store again.....and again.....and again.....i can't imagine how hard your life is, i mean i bet you have to do everything around here yourself...... he walks off, later when Im leaving the store i see him walking back by the jewelery section circling the store, again  shame the manager wasn't there.

Defiantly gonna try and get ahold of the manager.

*throwing water on the grease fire*

lol that isnt a problem with Wal-Mart, I notice this problem everytime I travel into the US and go into almost ANY store.

wow....not hear then because ive never been into a store as bad as that wallmarts electronic deparment, literally and we have like 5 walmarts local here 4 bestbuys couple compusas and like 2 circuit citys, assloads of gamestops and EB's ive been to and never even been spoken to in the tone of voice those people gave me

Mabey you were being a tad annoying trying to get then to fix the display model etc... I know I would probably be. Walmart employees arn't too worried about the xbox360 display.

And about there tone of voice, Walmart doesnt give a shit about there employees, or there employees attitudes. I try not to shop at walmart because of there poor buisness practices.

Somehow, I get the feeling that "Ballz2TheWallz" wasn't being a model of maturity and respect as he was talking to these people. Call it a hunch. But hey, first time I've managed to see racial profiling get brought into a thread about a videogame system. That's gotta be some kind of internet record, huh?

...does anybody even remember what the original topic was?

i went to my local bestbuy to check out the 360 they had setup. tried kameo, didnt impress me at all. king kong, was ok looking. then i fired up call of duty 2. the game was getting good frame rates, and looked just like it does on my pc. the texure quality is a little lower, tho and there was some aliasing, but you could tell that it was a lot better then what we had with xbox1.

so im playing along in cod2, and out of nowhere the game LOCKS UP AND CRASHES!!!! lol the whole screen truned a purpleish color and the system had to be reset to get it to work again. one of the sales kids ran over really fast and told me that its been doing that all day. baically because they have it in this plexi glass case that has almost no ventelation ... totally makes sense, but i think microsft designed all those display cases, so they should have thought it out a little better.

Well, I played the XBox 360 myself tonight. Call of Duty 2 as well. I didn't see a huge difference in textures, but the aliasing was pretty bad. Frame rates were good. I just wish they'd give the damn thing mouse and keyboard support. Seriously, I couldn't hardly control the thing. I really didn't like the experience of the gamepad for a first person shooter. Definately not my thing.

Graphics wise, not overly impressed with the XBox 360. Not so far. You know I kept remembering all that crap I heard people say about it killing the PC's and the graphics being so much better than a PC and so fourth. I think they were comparing it to your average E-Machine or something. That's how the marketting and sales people get away with such nonesense. Better than your average PC. Not a high end PC killer by any stretch.

I'll say this, you get alot for your money as a game machine vs. a low end PC. Plus the XBox 360 does have some neat features. Personally, since my DVD player is freaking out, and there might be some good racing games, I think I'll probably pick up an XBox 360 in the future. Probably after the holidays pass and the availability goes up.

Aliasing isn't an issue with the few Xbox 360 systems that are set to the proper display output.

480i on 720p monitors doesn't look good no matter how strong the console is.

If something uses water to cool it, its water cooled, end of story. It may not be how you are used to with your fancy gaming computers, but nonetheless the xbox360 has water cooling of some form in it.

Exactly, you just can't beat the value. Plus the games will continue to look better and better.
First gen games seem to be a poor representation of what a console is capable of.

The 360 uses a liquid other than water though IIRC, therefore it would be liquid cooling and not water cooling.

I agree. However I am not sure that was setup that way. If I had been there when it was setup, I would have asked about that. Still, I thought it looked fairly comparable to a PC.

My point was though, it is NO PC killer like it had been rumored to be.

I waited for about 10 minutes at an EB to play some COD:2. It looks pretty good, saw a glitch where smoke got semi transparent when I looked down the scope. Wasn't totaly amazing but my semi-broken Xbox keeps telling me to buy it. :D The case seemed to have a little bit of ventilation in the back, Didn't look like it was doing much for it though.

You must also keep in mind that this is a first-gen port of a PC title. There are a lot of reasons why these kiosks aren't really a good indicator of what the system can really do.

Microsoft has done a piss-poor job of covering this system. It started with that laughably bad MTV unveiling and has went downhill from there. Now we have kiosks that aren't set-up properly advertising games that most people don't care about anyways. Where are the PD0 demos? How about Gears of War (I know it's not nearly finished, but I'm sure there is enough for a demo)? Project Gotham Racing 3 is definately something that should have been put in playable form and they didn't do it.

PCs will always have the technological edge...it's impossible for a static console to keep up with a market that is constantly evolving. Developers do a good job at keeping pace with good engines and efficient coding, but the raw power of bleeding-edge cards can't be matched.
