What do you guys use to prep plastic before painting or using vinyl dye?

I've just been using rubbing alcohol, but was wondering if there was something better?

what do you use to degrease though? i'm going to use vinyl dye, so i won't be sanding it.
 
I use grease lightening. you can also just use some dish soap and rub it around then rinse it off.
 
Simple Green is the stuff I use. Cheap and has a ton of other uses. Plus it doesn't stink :D
 
Just don't use the version of Simple Green that contains abrasives.

Any soap will degrease. Dish soap will do heavy grease - just put it on without water and rub it in before washing it.

Remember that soap is not the same as detergent. You want soap.
