I forgot to order some plastic hose clamps with my order!! Is there any store locally that sells these same ones? I guess I can do the metal ones if I have to, home depot motorsports maybe?
 
LMAO..! I'm in the same dilema... and I refuse to use the metal stuff... I know it's the best thing but they really look bad and I know how I am I would break the barbs I tie everything too hard :D

I did a search all over Home Depot... I'm thinking on going to an autopart place... I just don't want to order something that will cost $3 and then $6 for shipping :)
 
Hmm checking on Autozone.com they sell what's called Magna-clamps pretty much the adjustable metal ones but more fancy ;)

try wal-mart, but i bet auto zone have those metal clamps, or home depot, lowes and ace hardware.
 
Those autozone clamps look pretty crazy, probably too bulky for WCing though :( Maybe some fancy colored zip ties would do? Glow-in-the-dark would be pretty sick!
 
Home depot DOES sell them. They're 89c Canadian here :).

Zip ties... Really don't do anything. Trust me, I've found out the hard way (I even have a Zip Tie GUN).

I'm out visiting my dad in Cali and there are NO microcenters in Arizona, he happens to live down the street from them and I checked it out. Microcenter is like a Fry's electronics but waaay nicer and def more hardcore! Really cool trip.
 
Yep, the stuff tends to be waayy overpriced and the people working at teh store near me are idiots*, but I still got my case and WC setup from them.


*I asked a guy where the ramsinks for the GPU were and he tried to convince me I did not need them, and that I would be better off if I dropped my overclock that got me a 500 point boost in 3DMark05 I would be better off.
 
Zip ties are too weak for that job IMO.

I'm on the hunt.. I must find an alternative to those ugly metal worm clamps :D
 
Im suprised he knew what an overclock was...

I've had an "associate" at Best Buy tell me that Hyperthreading is better than dual core, as it "Has all the benefits of Dual Core, but at half the heat, and price" and that "Intel is a more reliable company, with a better warranty than AMD." Yeah, maybe during the PII era. Oh, how about the time a different associate suggested to me that I could use a regular USB cable for my RAZR, the "USB B" end (which, by the way is thicker than the phone ;)).

Sigh.
 
Just came back from Lowe's and nothing.. I bought some regular metal worm clamps... but as I was driving I came up with the idea of putting the clamps on a piece of tubing then spray them with some fancy Touch Up Car paint. That way I think will look a little more presentable. Now I have to decide what color to use to make it look semi-cool :D

I know it's just a cosmetic deal but it makes me happy... you know there is a little pride on every science project :p

For real. Most people that work at those places think that since I'm young (14) I know nothing, when in fact I bet I could do their job 2-3x better if not more.
 
If you live near a Harbor Freight, I got a container of 100 for $7 from them. Different colors and sizes.

MicroCenter, Lowes (yes, they carry the plastic ones at my Lowes), Home Depot, Plumbing Supply, local hardware stores, etc..

I really like the hose clams you use a flathead screwdriver on as some have already pointed out. It gives more of an industrial look of solidarity and they fit as tight as you want to tighten them. But I know for sure MicroCenter carries the plastic clamps. I was just there the other day. There just aren't many MicroCenter's locally though. :(
 
I believe that the ones sold at Microcenter is DangerDen for $7.99 for a small pack of them maybe 4-6 plastic clamps. Lowes sells the smallest hose clamps for 3 or 2 for $.79. The smallest should work with 1/2in tubing or I could be mistaken and it could be the larger size.
