I am going to buy a Pansonic TC-P50U2 but I just read that the moving picture resolution is 900 lines whereas the TC-P50S2 have 1080 lines. What is moving picture resolution and is it worth it to get one with 1080 instead of 900? Both of the Plasmas resolutions are 1920X1080.

The "900 lines of motion resolution" spiel is just marketing speak referring to the level of the subfield drive used in the display processor. It's similar to "120hz" motion interpolation in LCD TV's; but with a key difference of being based on light pulses and occurring at the pixel level. It's actually part of the way that plasmas produce an image.

900 lines is just referring to an older generation plasma tech. The newest is NeoPDP and those are advertised with 1080 lines; but this has no bearing on the number of pixels produced per frame or the image resolution. However this is not to say that your panel is the same; last generation plasmas have lower contrast ratios and lesser black levels. They also may have different input lag characteristics. If I were you I'd get the NeoPDP based panel advertised as 1080 lines due to the better panel, not necessarily the "motion resolution".

P.S. You should be able to turn off any kind of post processing on your set by setting your input's mode to Custom or Game. I use my TC-P42S1 for gaming all the time and love it.

Too clarify the newer V series panels (the 3D and non-3D version) are suppose to have vastly improved motion handling for atleast the Panasonic PDP displays. If thats something that concerns you , might wanna look into it.
