So I have build a computer in a box to fold but I have run into a problem, how do I turn it on?? I have no switch like I would in a case. I have tried to jumper the pwr switch jumpers with no luck...

Short the power pins with a screwdriver blade, crosshead blades are safer as they tend not to slip all over the place.

Otherwise find a scrapped case and rag the on/off cable and switch.

keep in mind that you need to momentarily short the 2 pins, you can't have a jumper shorting them indefinately

so that is the problem, i need to short it for a sec, not indefinatly...

Yup. I've got 3 boxen I start by shorting out the pins with a jack knife.

I have set my BIOS options to automatically power up after an abnormal powerdown. This option along with Firedaemon automatically restarts Folding in the event of a loss of power or if I need to do something to the PC.

As was previously stated, the power on signal requires only a momemtary short.

Other important things yo consider when building "boxen in a box".

1. Papa John's extra pepperoni boxen OC better.
2. Eat the pizza before you build the box.
3. Using water cooling in pizza boxen may open a fundamental rift in the space-time continuum and end the universe as we know in. If you need to liquid cool these boxes, use BEER. (I know, I know..this is common sense...but it needs to be said just in case)
4. Always clearly mark DC pizza boxen. The potential physical damage from drunken friends opening the box and munching on a video card is cause for alarm. This could easily short out the motherboard and the potential loss of DCing time while driving your friend to the emergency room is devastating. Always remember the fundamentals of triage. Your friend has only a few broken teath, but the boxen is near death....fix the boxen first.

you can also use the wake on lan feature (assuming you have it) then when you want to turn it on just plug in the cat5 cable and it will roar to life

Finally Instructions!!

I kept on skipping step 2 and had a LOAD of problems, especially with the double cheese pizzas!

Sorry, [H]ardBrother....I sould have posted the instructions earlier.
It's all my fault. ;)

As you by now know, double cheese doesn't have enough pepperoni grease to keep the CPU well lubed. This is also the reason why you should never put your boxen in the dishwasher, it would obviously wash away the OC oil.

thermal grease ;)
No.
Its the residue left behind after the Mojo's evaperated dry.

Don't put the pizza's on the heat sinks to keep them warm.
It will void your warrenty.

Luck......... :D

hehe
It's the DC forum...questions are answered and then threads are hijacked. It's a long standing tradition. ;)

But sure, I'll close it down for you. :)
