is this halfway decent for a newb computer theater setup.

if so what would be the best way to hook it up to my computer, i am currently using RCA, to the headphone jack but i know this is not the best way.

audio is really not my forte

i already have the reciever i am just trying to figure out a better way to hook it up

If you don't have a soundcard, and you just have integrated audio, use optical audio if possible.

ok i am trying to work with the optical audio but it does not seem to work and the cable just falls out

What cable are you using with the optical audio port?

a digital optical cable

Okay just wanted to make sure!

All of my optical cables just snap onto the port. If the receiver has coaxial, you could try that as well. Sound quality should be identical. If you don't have a coaxial video cable just use any composite video or audio rca cable. It's just 75-ohm interconnect anyway.

doesnt seem like it, no sound anyway, the optical cable does not pop up as connected on my computer either. anytime i connect an analog audio cable a popup comes telling me its connected

nope just the one....im prolly gonna take it back to worst buy.

got a new one on the way from newegg
