Pioneer VSX-1022-K & Polk Audio RM510

I had a 1021-k (nearly identical) and the rm 7.1 system for a bit. For the price and size, the speakers sound very good. The center channel is a little underwhelming, but the surround speakers are crisp and room filling. I have long since passed the speakers on to a friend, but still use (and love) the 1021-k on one of my systems.

What you got at that price point will be solid. That's a pretty awesome gift too. I didn't get anything close to as cool from my friends when I bought my house lol.
