I hope to see 24 cores with 4.0 clocks by 2020. 48 threads at those clocks would be sweet. 32 cores at those speeds would be really nice if it can be done.

You might get that in 2019 if the rumors about a 6 core CCX for Zen2 are true.

Keyshot would run so smooth it would be better then running duel xeon. I would pay $2000 for a chip like that.

I am fully convinced that Zen2 will increase the core count. If that is achieved by introducing a new 6-core CCX or by adding another 4-core CCX to the die I don't know. But moar cores in a 7nm? Sure.

Is there an official definition for what "sampling" means in this context?

Last year Dell had initial launch for OEM exclusivity. Samples appeared on Sisoft database as per Videocardz. The chips go through testing and qualification prior to launch as systems are designed and tested.

It means sending samples to partners for the purpose of testing motherboards, software,... Probably AMD is sending qualification samples or even pre-production samples.
