Does anyone know of any Pink Cathodes, Pink Leds, Pink Fans... you know just pink.

I was looking to make my girlfriend a gaming case, and she wants pink... not red

I assume it would be possible to pull LEDS out of fans and replace with pink ones, but does anyone know of a place that actually sells them pink?

If anyone can help me find out, that would be great, thanks!

Search on newegg for red CFFLs. Reading the reviews, you'll find that a number of 'red' CFFLs are actually more of a pink. I bought a CFFL like that, and my parents made fun of me for weeks because of it

take red cathodes and wrap in rice paper or something semi-opaque? heh. never seen pink before...

There was a thread on how to make any color cold cathodes, I'll keep looking for it....

EDIT: Found it, check this out

Gimme a PM, I can help you out with lighting and wire covering. I can probably come up with some pink fans too.

Hexus: Thanks for linking my post. Glad to see people are actually reading the forums.

The PCToys red cathodes look RED.

You know, purple might work too, that was a good idea. She wants to do half the case in pink and half the case in another color to kinda contrast it.

I was thinking about the idea of just taking cathodes and wrapping it in something to change the color. I just wanted to make sure there wasnt just something out there.

As for the fans... thats the toughy. If i could find LED's with pink covers, i could also change the lights on the front of the case.

Maybe when this is done, ill build myself a girly case too... hehe.

I also built a pink computer for my ex-girlfriend, Its hard to find anything PINK, so I got her a black CM praetorian, got some white CCFLS, oredered a wavemaster side panel with window.

Then I went to the lighting store and purchased pink film paper, its the same material professional lighting guys use to change the colors of lights. The only exception being its a whole sheet of it and not an insert like the professionals use.

I cut and measured and just pasted it on with a special invisible paste I got from the hardware store, it's used for opaque surfaces. I pasted it on the inside not the outside. It took a while because I kept on getting air bubbles but I got it after a while.

It looked pretty damn cool because the white ccfls and pink film combined gave a sort of pinkish white flouresent glow. not the same of a regular cathode. It would get so bright that you wouldnt be able to see the components,

I would post pics but we broke up. It's ok, her parents payed for the whole job ;)

If you cover white led's with pink film or paint. Would it work???

I wonder. Anyone try it?

Yes it is. I've got a huge FS/FT thread for it. Sold lots so far, but still have lots. I also have some really nice purple.

Yeah, the website is coming along nicely. I've been so busy doing "actual work" that I haven't had any time to devote to working on the site.
