I see advertisers marketing towards online gamers and the benefits of FPS. But what actually is more important is the ping. If I get 160 FPS and a crappy ping it does me no good to have 160 FPS. Money cannot buy ping outside of location.

conversely, having a constant ping of 20 doesnt helps if ure fps is 15
 
maybe this is where the magic number 30 comes into play. Although I like a more fluid looking motion, getting the job done may not require more than 30 as they say.
