Literally I can watch my ping going from down to WAYYYY UP, very slow. One second I will be at 50 ms and then it slides to 1000 range. Clearly unacceptable. I am using Comcast cable in Jacksonville and am trying to help pinpoint the problems. Like I said, I would classify the symptom as a rollercoaster effect. Fast and slow, and so on. I reset my modem, reboot, the basics, but other than that I have no clue what is causing it.
My roommate has hooked into the 2nd network card on my computer and perhaps that is the cause but I simply do not know enough to be sure of that and I am not sure if that would cause this symptoms I am experiencing. (If it is, that is a simple fix, hehe, *click*)
Running following
XP on Abit KV8 Pro
AMD 64 3000 +
Radeon 9800 Pro
Onboard LAN card (o the KV8)
Linksys NiC
1 Gig Kingston DDR 400
Thanks for the help.
