PIII Question

Whats the Highest a 100MHZ Bus Speed PIII Goes I need to upgrade my aunt't computer and it has a Celeron 566MHZ in it and the MB only supports 66/100MHZ Celerons/PIII so whats the highest PIII I can put in it ?

I believe the fastest you can get is a PIII 1.1Ghz:

Socket 370 Pentium III 1.1Ghz

I thought there was a Slot 1 PIII 1.1Ghz but I can't seem to find it.

If a PIII based celeron is an option then 1.4Ghz. Just make sure that MoBo supports Tualatin core cpus. BTW a tualatin based celeron is as fast if not faster than the previous gen pIII's.

I have a Celeron 1.1ghz and its about as as fast as a Penitum 3 1ghz.

missed the celeron part, i was focused on PIII, but your right if the board will support tualatin the 1.4 celeron would be a good choice

If its got a 533 Celeron in it, I highly doubt it will support Tualatin (too old), unless you use a powerleap.com adapter.

So you should look at getting a 1.0 or 1.1Ghz P3 Coppermine with 100FSB. That should hold her for a while, as P3 1Ghz's perform decently for their age.
