Heya,

Right my uncle has decided he wants a dedicated computer in order to manipulate/store/print the images from his digi-cam.. now its quite fancy, a digital SLR so one picture usually takes up a few mb and when these are being shifted around in PS his current computer struggles a bit.. i know they arent HUGE but his pc is rather old, a P2 i beleive..

Now i dont know alot about digital image manipulation, so i was wondering:

a) What minimum specs should i be looking at with this machine?
b) What would be the best OS to use (XP by default i think)
c) Is there any hardware that i need to put particular importance on, and let other bits slide?

Im only used to building overpowered gaming/overclocking computers for myself so any input would be great!!

Well, Photoshop loves RAM so I'd say go for a gig.

Also, a faster hard drive will make a big difference so don't skimp there.
 
Ide say get a
Athlon 2500+
abit nf7m (with built in video)
1gb of valueram in dual channel (512x2)

36g Raptor for the OS drive and 200g Seagate SATA for the storage.
OR if he doesnt need that fast/that much space
160g Seagate SATA
