What do you guys think about a Picopsu type dc-dc board powered with a PSU from a phat PS3? I know that the PS3's psu can be converted into a 12v bench supply like ATX psu's. I figured it would work since the dc-dc board just needs a 12v input. The only thing I'm not sure about is if the psu would be able to go to sleep/standby correctly like a ATX psu would.

I found this:

from this thread:

From that thread, it seems the "On" line is the same as the PS_On wire on an ATX connector. Also, that's the wire that needs to be jumped to the last 5v line to act as "power good" for it to be used as a bench supply.

I opened my PS3 psu and looked at the bottom side of the pcb under the 5 pin connector and they're labeled as: 12v on/off/ 5vsb rtn/ 5vsb rtn/ 5vsb/ 5vsb..

I know I can just run the PS3 psu as a bench psu and wire the main 12v to the dc-dc board, but I still want the standby mode functionality of an ATX psu.
