So it would seem that power consumption for the i5 661 on bluray load[?] is ~77W (from techpowerup's review), but what about the i3 530?

Just gonna be using this barebones - CPU, Integrated GPU, Ram, HD. Nothing more.

Will a PicoPSU of 90W w/ a 80W adapter work well or is that pushing it? http://www.mini-box.com/picoPSU-90-80W-power-kit

I don't want any "futureproofing" and unnecessary "what if" scenarios.

According to that it might not be enough... I'm guessing they're using an AC-DC PSU not a DC-DC... so efficiency would account for some of the increased power usage, but I think you'd be better off with a 120watt ?

I was using the 80W adapter with an E5200 and GF9300 mini-itx board, and one 2.5" drive.. that was enough for it, but I'm not sure if my setup uses more or not.

But they're also using a video card? The mobo is a P55 not a H55.

Common Hardware
ATI Radeon HD 5870 graphics card (Catalyst 9.11 WHQL)
1TB Seagate Barracude 7200.12 hard disk
PC Power & Cooling 750W PSU

That is also true... I didn't see that...

But those power-consumption tests are Prime95, so the VGA card would be idling... I don't know how much the 5870 pulls while idling, but I thought it was supposed to be fairly low.

I think you could get away with an 80 watt AC adapter... but what you could do is buy the 120watt Pico-PSU and use the 80 watt adapter (I actually used a 150XT with an 80 watt adapter, then added a 120watt adapter later).

Dunno, I don't think I've seen any AC adapter that small that has a fan... my 120 watt from ebay was ~$15 and is silent...
