I currently use a basic logitech keyboard that I honestly love. But building a new system and kind of want to upgrade. I use a razer mouse that I love and I have been thinking of getting widow.

Open to suggestions though!
 
personally i do not like razer's keyboards, their mouse are excelents i love it but not the same case with their keyboards.. i am owner of a razer lycosa and a blackwidow ultimate.. they are really expensive compared to other keyboards and that price not worth the performance, comfort with the keyboard.. I just bought the blackwidow as a curiosity to test by myself a Mech keyboard.. the typing its pretty hard on the first days of use, you really have to make pressure on the keys to make it work, also are VERY noisy when typing and for long periods that can be little annoying on the nights at least for me.. the lycosa for me was just average keyboard with a lovely shape on the keys it make look pretty nice, the lights are good, the fast response good too.. but if i can suggest a keyboard, try the Logitech G510 or G19.. My mom gave to my little brother a G510, some days ago, i tested and damn.. i loved it.. i bought one too.. very soft and silent typing, fast response key, nice backlight on the keys and the LCD screen, and A LOT of programmable keys..they keyboard feels good in he hands, the keys are a bit tiny compared to other keyboards, if you have big hand and fingers that could be a problem, but for me the size are perfect.. i really recommend the G510..
 
If you're considering mechanical, Razer is definitely not the first choice of many peripheral enthusiasts; most will generally point you to CMStorm Quickfire Rapids for the price:quality ratio they carry, as well as Rosewill's RK9000 series and Ducky's new Zero line, all are quality no-frills mech boards that are great for entry-level.

If you are considering getting something backlit I couldn't really recommend anything aside from Ducky's Shine (2) line and Deck's keyboards; there are a few newer backlit boards that seem promising, but no real longevity reports on how well the LEDs and keycap coatings stand the test of time while, Ducky and Deck both have outstanding marks on compared to other manufacturers.
 
Try out a mechanical keyboard at Fry's Electronics or your local PC store. You'll need to find the best switches that you're most comfortable with.

They don't get quieter; the only difference any break-in with Cherry MX Blue/Green/White (clicky) is make any off-sounding/feeling keys more uniform, but this doesn't always happen.

Nope.. Its always noisy... At least for the long time i'd used it remain same.. Well.. Positive side.. Are high quiality keys xD.
