so i picked up a sony wega kdf-42e2000. its only a 720p tv, but thatll have to do for now. basically for me to game on and thats it, so i dont have to keep moving my pc to the nice tv..

anyways, since its only 720p (but accepts 1080i) what happens to the tv if i cut the anti aliasing on in game?

im assuming nothing, and it will do what anti aliasing does and at 42 inches with this low res..thats helpful,

just want to make sure before i got taxing my vid card with anti aliasing.

The resulting aliasing will be entirely up to Sony's built in scaler. This is one of those rare sets that is exactly 1280x720 (or so it says), but in my experience, even then the built in scaler will probably overscan unless you find an option to turn it off.

Good news is that any interpolation will be equal both ways, as the aspect ratio is correct. With 1080i you're going to get a scaled image no matter what, and keep in mind that if you use 1080i, not p, it's going to be 29.97hz not 59.94.

Barring any outlandish blurring, I'd say you'll want to use at least a mild 2x AA. Keep in mind that many 360 games still use 4x AA at their native 1280x720, so there's something to compare it to.
