I'm interested in learning how to play the piano and was wondering if any of you guys know a cool program. Would die a happy man if I could play one or two ragtime songs.
Thanks

you could use guitar pro, and import a midi you've found, that is if you want to do it the easy way and not actually learn how to play, however if you want to go a little further there are plenty of resources online that show you how to read, i'm actually in the process of building a site with music lessons, i'll post the link to it when it's up.

OP I would highly, highly suggest an actual teacher. I know this is a "what kind of software" question, but if you're looking to play ragtime, you're going to need training in the fundamentals (scales, chords, proper finger placement, etc).

"How to" videos will only get you so far, but they're a start ...

Mr. JaYp146 I agree that a teacher is the best thing I could do but money is a concern right now, that's why I'm leaning to a free alternative all tough I know it's a poor substitute.
Was thinking online lessons but wanted a little more that's why I thought a program could help me out.
Still open for suggestions on software.
